This area of work has been organized to help guide us to share the “Good News”. The goal is to have outreach teams to share the gospel with other women (such as family, friends, neighbors, etc.). There are also training classes available for anyone who wants to teach that has not taught before. 

GOALS: To ensure the continuance of women’s classes.

To provide encouragement and positive interaction among the women in the congregation.

To provide opportunities to invite friends to our meetings.

To provide friend-to-friend counseling when the elders think it is needed.

To make sure that our activities are always Biblical and approved by the elders.

WOMEN’S CLASSES

The group is pleased with the present Wednesday night class and would like it to continue. We enjoy different ways of studying God’s word. We engage through verse by verse study of the Bible, topical studies and journeys throughout the Bible. Devotionals are done occasionally. We would like for this to continue.

ENCOURAGEMENT AND POSITIVE INTERACTION

We believe that our ladies’ class does this. Also the recent workshops and the participation have helped meet this goal. Most of the other proposed and presently active ministries also help meet this goal. These activities also provide a way to invite friends to take part in our activities.

FRIEND-TO-FRIEND COUNSELING

We believe that sometimes the minister and/or elders have situations where a woman is needed to help provide counseling. We recognize that we are by no means professional counselors; but we believe that in specific situations, we could help in areas where we have had experience. We want all of this activity to be confidential and under the oversight of the elders Various areas where we think we might serve are the following: financial; grief; divorce; the death of a parent; caring for aging parents; parenting; problems on the job; marriage, accompanying minister, an elder or other man to a Bible study where it would not be appropriate for him to go alone; and various other problems.

This area of work is organized to provide rides to doctors, to run errands and to provide small tasks at homes. Once the contact person is made aware of a need they will then contact one of the women in this group to provide the help needed.

This area of work is designed to take meals to shut-ins after our once a month fellowship meal we hold on every fourth Sunday. A take out tray is put together with food and delivered by a member of the church. The food and visitation with the shut-ins is very rewarding.

This area of work is organized to provide meals for: Shut-ins, sick, needy and those having difficult times. Meals are also taken to new parents as we welcome their new baby. Women in the church are called upon to carry this work through. The following is a list of women set up by three groups. Each group has a leader whom the contact person calls when meals are needed. The leader of the group then calls those women in her group and organizes meals. Groups are alternated as needed.

This area of work is designed to help people in the community who are in need of clothing and is held about the time school starts. It involves:

1. A total congregational effort to collect and donate good, clean used clothing suitable for giveaway. (begin approx… two months prior)

2. Advertising for 2-3 weeks before event by flyers, newspaper, bulletin, sign in front of church building.

3. Two days before event set up tables and sort clothing; have a table for each of the following categories: Women’s small, medium, large, extra large. Same for men. Have a table for girls and one for boys, infants and one for shoes.

4. Day of event; two people to register and greet people and provide 13 gallon trash bags for clothing. There will be gospel literature already placed inside each bag. Approx. six members to assist at the giveaway. (some should be men).

5. After event, clean up; pack up leftover clothing and arrange to donate it to a good cause..

“There is an active plan for clothing to be stored by size and available throughout the year on as need basis. Details will be shared once this plan is in effect”.

This area of work is organized for gathering and composing “sacks” of items such as clothing and /or personal effects for confidential benevolence, as call for by the deacon. In the event of a confidential benevolence call, the items can be dropped off to the church building by the ladies for the deacon to pick up and deliver to the one in need.

We have divided our groups by seasons. During each particular season the ladies assigned will be in charge of fellowship meals, as well as any other special occasion that may arise. For each fellowship meal the group will decorate, organize the food table, clean-up, and clean the silverware. Please put the dirty linens in laundry basket in the kitchen. Julie has a list of women who have volunteered to take the basket home and launder the linens and return them to the supply room for our next event. We are hoping that this will make it easier on everyone and that the same people will not be doing the same jobs every fellowship meal.

These three menu ideas were put together to help members of the church, in the organization of food preparation incase of a funeral, etc… The menu options provided will feed up to 100 people,(after 100 we will do the best we can to provide). Families will be responsible for bringing additional sides and dessert.

This area of work has been designed for the teen girls. They meet on Thursday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the home of Phil and Cathy Hudson. Periodically this time may change to work with schedules. This gives the teen girls a time of bonding and sharing their life’s experiences with one another. Through God’s word, we are learning the importance of being God’s Girls. We are currently studying “Leadership for Young Women”. Leadership through: Obedience, Love, Character, Decency, Good Attitude, Contentment, Humility, Appearance, Purity, Words, Service, Purpose and Courage. Our goal is to be the best we can be…..As God’s Girls!

This area of work has been organized by the leaders of the church based on the needs. In many cases the secretary will be the first person seen, heard and met when people call or enter the facilities. The secretary can have a tremendous impact on the first impression that people have of the Lord’s church and of this particular congregation. Flexibility, availability, and dependability are general requirements but the individual in this position does have specific duties for which she is responsible.
